Planning Ahead, Not Always Right.

James 4:13-15
Now listen, you who say.  'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or
that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.  What is
your life?  You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.  Instead you ought to say, '' If it is the Lord's will, we will
live and do this or that.''

There is nothing wrong with planning ahead.  We all have these times when we think of the future ahead of us, and what we would
like to do.  But what is the point of that if God is not in these plans.
We must remember that it is God who holds our future in His hands.  When you make plans, do you ask God if that is His will for
you?  Or do you go on, regardless to what He wants you to do.  None of us know what is going to happen tomorrow, or the day
after and so on.  Remember if we plan ahead and it is not in God's
will He can change your plans.  If He does, then it is for the best.
He will not disappoint you.

I have come to the conclusion that it is best to take a day at a time,
and ask God what he wants me to do.

Do Not Be Ashamed.

1 Peter 4:15-16
If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other
kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.  However, if you suffer as a
Christian,do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that
name.

Psalm 25:3
Indeed let no one who waits on You be ashamed:  Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.

Being a Christian is not always easy, in fact we often find ourselves
being ridiculed and so often by family and friends who do not
believe in God.  But if we have Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, and if we have faith and trust in Him to guide us then we need not be
ashamed to do the work God has called us to do.  We must continue
even though through doing so may bring us trouble or suffering.  Do not despair, let us bring glory to God.

Reading God's Holy Word.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
(N.K.J.V)
2 Chronicles 34:31
The King stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord, to follow the Lord and keep His commands,
regulations and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book.  (N.I.V)

The Bible is God's Holy Word revealed to us.  It is not a book meant for casual reading, as if we were reading some fictional
story.  God's Word is very important in every way, to every
Christian believer and shows the way between right and wrong.
In Hebrews 4:12 it says, that it is ' Living and Active.'  But how can we know what God wants us to do if we don't read it, and even that
in itself is not enough.  We must be willing to do what it says, we need to apply it in our every day lives.  It is a safeguard against
all false teaching and a guidance to the way we should live.  How
much time do you spend reading God's Word?  If we read it
regularly we will discover God's truth and become confident in
life and faith.

Let God's Word, fill your memory, rule your heart and guide your
steps.

No One Can Snatch Them.

John 10: 28
Jesus said, 'I give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.

For those of us who are a child of God, and who place their
trust and life in His hand; no one can snatch or steal us away.

Praise

Hebrews 2:12
'I will declare Your name to My brethren.  In the midst of the
assembly I will sing praise to You.

We have been set apart for God's service, those of us who believe,
and have asked Jesus in to our lives.  We have been made holy, and
we now have the same Father that Jesus has.  Oh, let us praise Him,
let us praise His Holy name.

He Comforts

Isaiah 51:12
' I, even I, am He who comforts you.  Who are you that you should
be afraid of a man who will die.  And of the son of man who will
be made like grass?

There are times in our lives when we may have a fear of someone
or something.  But God's power is greater, as is His comfort, and mercy.  Let us draw close to God.  Let us feel His comforting arms
around us.

Peace

John 14:27
'Peace I leave with you.  My peace I give to you.  Let not your heart
be troubled, neither let it be afraid.'

The peace of the world will never match the wonderful peace
that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gives to us.

Creation

G
enesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The simple statement that God created the heavens and the earth is
one of the most challenging, confronting the mind.

Let us Persevere

Matthew 24 :13
....but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

As followers of Christ we will go through many trials and persecutions, and some of these will come from family or friends
who do not believe or have Jesus in their lives.  But let us stand firm.  Let us persevere and not turn our backs on our Saviour and Lord, and continue to live for Christ to the end.
